The Bees: New Britain just ended a 7 day, 6 game road trip, making visits to Long Island and Somerset. The trip was scheduled to be 7 games, but Saturday night’s game was postponed due to inclement weather. In the trip, Michael Baca had 7 total hits in 5 games played, raising his batting average by 35 points. Last night, Jamar Walton hit his 9th home run of the year, and 3rd home run of the series against the Patriots.

The Opposition: Lancaster comes in to New Britain to begin an 8 game road trip, later travelling to Southern Maryland for a 4 game series which includes the Freedom Division first half championship game. They just ended a brief 3 game home stand against Long Island, winning 2 of 3 games in the series. Cole Garner has been dangerous at the plate for the Barnstormers as of late. In his last 5 games, he is batting .350 with a home run and 6 RBI.

Starting Pitchers – New Britain: RHP Jonathan Pettibone (1-4, 4.41) | Lancaster: LHP Tommy Shirley (0-2, 11.25)

Key to the Game – Rosa’s hot bat: In 10 games against Lancaster this year, Jovan Rosa is batting .405 with 10 RBI, leading the Bees in both categories. He has 3 home runs and 2 doubles to his credit against the Barnstormers, and has only struck out 11 times in 44 plate appearances. Look for Rosa to take charge in this opening game against Lancaster as well as the rest of the series, and for the New Britain batting order to revolve around him to put runs on the board.
