The Bees: New Britain is in the middle of a 7 game road trip, making their second and final stop. They first visited Somerset, where the Patriots took 2 games of their 3 game series. The victory for the Bees came in game 1, so they come in to Lancaster on a 2 game losing skid. Anthony Marzi will be getting the start for New Britain, who has made 2 starts already this season against the Barnstormers, striking out 5 batters in 9 innings.

The Opposition: The Barnstormers have just completed a brief 3 game road trip to face York, their in-state rival. The opening game of their weekend series was suspended due to inclement weather, and had to be postponed to Sunday afternoon, where it would later resume. It was followed by a 7 inning series finale, which Lancaster won. However, York won the overall series, taking the first 2 games. K.C. Hobson has been swinging a hot bat at the plate as of late, batting .389 with 2 home runs in his last 5 games.

Starters – New Britain: LHP Anthony Marzi (5-4, 2.87) | Lancaster: LHP Nate Reed (1-4, 3.92)

Key to the Game – Heart of the order: K.C. Hobson may be performing well at the plate for Lancaster, but the Bees can counter that with several bats that have been hot against the Barnstormers. Jovan Rosa is batting .375 with 5 RBI, Jamar Walton is batting .350 with 4 home runs, and Craig Maddox is batting .348 with a triple all against Lancaster this season. When stacked together in the batting order, the heart of New Britain’s lineup is capable of being vicious. Look for the Bees to use this to their advantage, and for the rest of the offense to follow suit, putting up impressive numbers of their own against Lancaster.

Broadcast: The Bees’ Official YouTube Channel (youtube.com/newbritainbees) and Facebook Live (facebook.com/newbritainbees), starting at 12:50 P.M.

Song of the Day: Steve Miller Band - Behind the Barn

Bridgeport scored 10 runs on May 17th and 18th against New Britain this season…New Britain’s streak of scoring in the 1st inning was snapped at 3 consecutive games…Brandon Shimo has not allowed a run in his last 4 outings, striking out 7 combined hitters (5 2/3 innings)…Michael Crouse drove in 2 runs for his 10th multi-RBI game of the season. He is second on the team in multi-RBI games behind Conor Bierfeldt (11)…Jovan Rosa extended his consecutive games played for the Bees streak to 203, and his overall consecutive games played streak to 226, including postseason.
