The Bees: For the second straight game, the Bees have hit 2 home runs with James Skelton and Michael Crouse each hitting a solo shot last night. Crouse, along with Conor Bierfeldt, had multiple hits in yesterday’s game. They are now tied for the team lead in multi-hit games at 4 with Craig Maddox and Jon Griffin. Out of the bullpen, the combined efforts of Mike Hepple, Brandon Fry, and Chris Hayes limited the Skeeters to just 1 run and 4 hits across 4 1/3 innings.

The Opposition: The bullpen for Sugar Land was the major turning point in yesterday’s game, as the combined efforts of 4 different relievers limited the Bees offense to only 1 hit and 3 walks through 4 full innings. New Britain scored both of their runs off of starter Jake Hale, who allowed 6 hits through his 6 innings of work. Anthony Giansanti has been a key contributor at the plate for the Skeeters in this series so far, going 5-7 with 3 doubles, an RBI, and 2 runs scored.

Starters- New Britain: Jason Jarvis (0-1, 5.00) | Sugar Land: Michael Nix (0-3, 3.93)

Key to the Game- Late inning rally: So far in the two games of this series against Sugar Land, New Britain has scored 7 total runs. None of those runs have come later than the 4th inning. The Bees have shown that they can get runs on the board early, and establish a lead if applicable. Look for New Britain to keep the bats going through the second half of the game and beyond to reinforce their early lead, keeping the Sugar Land bullpen on their toes.
