Series: The Bees open the 2017 regular season by taking on the same opponent in the same venue as they did to open up their inaugural season one year ago. Last season, York was victorious in the season series. This is the first of 20 meetings between York and New Britain this season, and the first of 10 at New Britain Stadium.

PROMOTIONS: It’s Opening Day presented by Advanced Physical Therapy! The first 1,000 fans through the gates will take home a Bees magnetic schedule courtesy of Advanced Physical Therapy. It’s also Friday, which means it’s Fat Tire Friday and Foul Pole Friday! Fans will have a chance to participate in weekly Fat Tire giveaways, and if JAMES SKELTON, this week’s designated player, hits a home run off of a foul pole, one lucky fan will win $50,000! After the game, stick around for a postgame fireworks extravaganza!
 
The Bees: The New Britain Bees begin the 2017 regular season after concluding spring training play on Monday, April 17. The official roster was announced yesterday, as well as the starting rotation. Casey Coleman, who has MLB experience pitching with the Chicago Cubs and Kansas City Royals, will get the nod for the Bees to make his first opening day start of his career.
 
The Opposition: The York Revolution ended last season at 76-64, taking home the Freedom Division crown in the first half. In the postseason, they went swept by the Sugar Land Skeeters in the first round.

Key to the Game- This time, it’s real: Now that spring training has ended and each player has gotten their share of playing time in, the regular season begins now. Look for the Bees to start out strong, set the pace early, and strive to keep the pace going throughout the entire season.
