The Bees: Anthony Hewitt has enjoyed much success in 2016 against Southern Maryland’s pitchers. The former first round pick is hitting .310 (13-42) with three home runs, a team-high 12 RBIs, and eight run scored in 14 games against the Blue Crabs so far this season.

The Opposition: The Blue Crabs have collectively been swinging hot bats of late as they enter today’s series finale hitting .303 (103-340) with eight home runs and 48 runs scored over the last ten games.

Starters
New Britain- RHP Nate Roe (3-0, 3.50) | Southern Maryland- Brian Grening (7-4, 3.19)

Key to the Game: Keep Roeing Along- In three August starts, Nate Roe has posted a 2-0 record with a solid 3.72 ERA. In his last two starts (August 11 at York, August 16 vs. Long Island), the right-hander out of Rutgers completed seven innings both times while allowing a combined four earned runs in those starts. If Roe can replicate his past two starts, the Bees have a solid chance at taking the finale of the series against the Crabs this afternoon.
